"Work" on a sailboat!
We have openings for all days and times. We operate 7
days a week, days and nights, and provide a great deal of flexibility for anyone
who is qualified and loves to sail. |
Licensed Skippers
If you have your USCG OUPV license (or better) with Great Lakes endorsement,
and are experienced enough to COMFORTABLY single hand sailboats of 30 to 35 feet,
we want to talk to you about part time work. Good hourly pay, good tips, and best
of all, good times.
If you want to get your OUPV and work for us, we suggest completing a class and
having your application submitted by Feb of 2009 and, so that you will have your
license by June (it takea a LONG time now). Check out
explorersguidellc.com for online or classroom instruction. |
Instructors
If you have experience teaching basic sailing, we may have a place for you
in our lessons program. |
Deck Hands
Sailors of at least modest experience level are needed for day and night sails for
each of our boats (by modest if you know what I mean by something like "move the
traveler down and ease out the main" then you are probably qualified). Often only
a skipper is on board, but sometimes we want a deck hand as well, and on some boats
we always want a deck hand.
Pay varies, but at minimum you get out on the water and make a few bucks. |
Requirements
In addition to the proper credentials above, all crew members will be made
part of our random drug test program as required by USCG. You must be responsible,
prompt, friendly, courteous, and hard working to crew for us. Anything less than
that, even once, is not tolerated. |
Perks
Last minute deeply discounted use of our boats, and sailing with
us on pleasure cruises as our guests are among the perks to be had. |
