Flexible times and dates |
|
Weekdays, weekends, morning, afternoon, night; whatever days and times you need,
we will accomodate you. You will
need to come out 3 or 4 days for about 3 hours each day (depending on how rapidly
you pick up the skills and terminology) in order to finish the class. Instruction sails are normally 3 hours, but if that does not
fit your schedule, we can schedule sails as short as as 2 hours depending on your
situation. We will tell you when we believe you are ready, but you can stop after
the first lesson if you feel comfortable. |

Groups |
|
You decide who is in your group, because you charter the whole boat for your lessons. |
|
What we will teach you, and what you get out of it: |
We teach you everything you need to sail a boat of up to 35'. We will teach you
to do everything you need to know from the time you depart the dock until the time
you return, so that you can handle the boat without any staff on board.
We also provide you with a letter stating what you were taught and our contact information.
We keep records of your instruction and with your permission can give the details
to any propespective lessor to
assure them of your experience. Normally when renting a sailboat, you will be taken through a checkout by
the company renting the sailboat to you. We make sure that you know everything you
need to know in order to gain the lessor's confidence, as well as everything you need to know to handle the boat. |
|
COSTS - charter the boat, the instruction is $40: |
|
The instruction is only an extra $40 total per sail (no matter if you have 1 or
6 people).
Just charter the boat and tell us you want instruction
and we will be prepared to teach. If you check
out on all your skills and knowledge quickly, the instruction can be completed in
as little as 3 sails, but we encourage you to plan on 4 sails in case there are
any skills on which you need more practice. |
|
Have fun while you are learning: |
|
We want you to have fun when you are taking our lessons, so the vast majority of
our instruction is hands on, with only a bare minimum of "chalkboard" time. |
